Maya is a Psychological Associate registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She holds a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology (1999). She owns a small thriving private practice and has been serving KW and surrounding areas since 2008.
Maya focuses on a holistic approach to healing, including mind /body /heart and spirit. She has kept a ear in the functional medicine scene and its connection to mental health for over a decade. She understands that body health and mental health are intimately connected.
Her rich work history includes teaching psychology, working with university students having mental health issues, and working with both individuals and couples in hospital and private practice settings. She has successfully worked with over 1000 clients, having provided guidance to overcome a variety of issues.
She used a range of modalities of treatment while serving as a key facilitator at Homewood's PTSD hospitalized program. Maya has a positive reputation for her effective and compassionate work with police, military and adult civilians.
Maya is trained in a rich variety of modalities and has extensive individual and group therapy experience. Modalities she uses includes Mindfulness Based Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Couples Therapy, Hakomi Body Therapy, Art, Movement & Psychodrama Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis. You will find that she tailors her approach to your needs, using a mix of approaches.
Her goal is to help people achieve a deeper, clearer more compassionate connection with themselves. Clients find Maya vary approachable and find it easy to let their guard down, get honest and start to do the work, while being held in a compassionate space.
